Demon's Ultimate Frisbee Team was founded in September 2004 by Andy Lee. The team was not part of the De Montfort University Athletic Union, so it had to fund its own tournament entries. The team's first kit was provided by the local pub 'The Pride of Leicester'.
The Demons were relatively skilled from the outset, and for 18 months held their Leicester foes, the Jesters, at bay. This winning streak was capped with a 15-3 demolition job at 2005's Outdoor Regionals, before following up with victory at Varsity. Within their first year the team set an amazing standard, finishing 9th at Outdoor Regionals, as well as gaining an overall divisional ranking of 12th.
The following year would see the team grow in numbers and skill. With many of the original team returning, hopes were high of a good season.
Just six players represented the team at Birmingham’s Indoor Regionals. The small team exceeded expectations when beating Birmingham, Oxford Brookes and Loughborough University teams. Outdoor regionals saw the team bolstered by the fresher's debuts. The team were strong in the early matches before their development was once again halted by Warwick Bears, leaving the Demons in 10th position.
Demon's Ultimate would eventually beat Warwick Bears at the inaugural University Ladder League, where the use of their trademark tight zonal defence would grab them 7th place in the regional rankings.
The team would end the year by competing at the first Jestival tournament. Finishing in 9th position, the team gained victories over Stafford and Keele University Mental Discs, before narrowly losing to Aberystwyth.
Over the summer break the team competed at the first Vibration Touch Tournament in France, and were the only English team to do so.
A series of strong results followed and by the next Outdoor Regionals, play became so impeccable that the new super-stat, World domination, was conceived by proud parents Duke and Chris. A World Domination consists of a Score, Intercept and Assist all within one game, and still reigns as the ultimate acid test of skill within the club.
However, at Varsity Jesters turned the tables and beat Demons 13-4. The team would end the season by winning the Spoon at Mixed Nationals in Newcastle, before taking 7th place at Jestival.
Winning the plate at Portsmouth's Sublime Indoor Tournament and strong showings at Lemmings Indoor LUAU, finishing 5th with the Developers tournament and 3rd in the experienced, were amongst the early season highlights.
However, Demon's eclipsed these feats by beating Jesters five times in a row. After four Varsity games, 2 indoor and 2 outdoor, the record stood at 4-0 to Demons. Demons 2 beat Jesters 2 13-0 Outdoor, before the first team came back from 10-6 down to beat Jesters 12-11.

The 08/09 season kicked off with indoor regionals, where the team lost the plate final against Warwick Bears by one point. Although Lemmings Indoor LUAU Tournament saw a great improvement in the team's achievements. The Developer's team just lost out in the Plate final, whilst the experienced team took the Sunday by storm with a six-game unbeaten stampede to claim the overall crown. DEMONS ULTIMATE WON LUAU ‘09!!
Varsity a month later proved a non-event as the team were easily beaten by the Jesters in blustery conditions.
Jestival closed out the year and saw the team gain a mixed bag of results; however, the highlight was an incredible 12-11 victory over the Jesters.

Last year saw the team start off with an amazing performance at Bristol's Inferno Warm-Up tournament, with the 1st team finishing 6th of 16, whilst the beginners team took a respectable 3rd place finish.
However, at Indoor Regionals the Demon's first team fought valiantly to finish in 14th, whilst a team largely made up of Freshers propped up the table down in 24th place.
Although as the year progressed the team got stronger and stronger. With all the teams effort coming to a head at Outdoor Regionals. The Demon's had the honour of hosting the Midlands regionals and many claimed the tournament was the best Demon's had ever played.
They just missed out on a place at Nationals in a tight game against the Jesters.
Unfortunately the score difference would be even greater when Varsity arrived and the team were easily beaten by their Leicester rivals.
However, between these games the team would play respectably at Lemmings LUAU indoor tournament. Both teams finished in 8th position, with the 1st day's developer's team taking home the spirit award. So for the second year running Demons took home a trophy from LUAU.

So with last year arguably showing the team in its greatest form what does the future hold for the Demon Rangers? Sex and Danger anyone?!
