Whether its sun, rain or snow,
outdoor training takes place on a Thursday evening
at Nelson Mendela park. Outdoor training is
a joint session with Red, the open Leicester
team. The training session takes into account
the various levels of skill that players will
have. Red contains some very experienced people
who are willing to teach new players the throws
and basics of the game, so there is no need
to feel intimidated when coming for the first
time. Training takes the form of various drills
to improve both short and long distance throwing,
as well as movement and catching under pressure.
After the training, a game is played until people
cannot take anymore and this has been known
to go on till 11:30pm! When a session runs for
this long, the floodlights are turned on so
that the game can continue. When attending an
outdoor session, be sure to bring with you one
light and one dark t-shirt to distinguish the
different teams during a game.

Indoor training takes place
in the John Sandford Sports Centre on a Friday
evening at 6:30pm. The session lasts for one
hour and includes practice drills to improve
throwing, catching and movement, and finishes
off with a friendly game. Before any indoor
tournaments, this session is also used to practice
new plays. When coming to an indoor training
session, make sure to bring with you one light
and one dark t-shirt to distinguish the different
teams during a game. Every so often the Leicester
University Frisbee Team, the Jesters, join our
indoor training session for a friendly hour
game. Indoor training is a fun yet energetic
session and usually finishes with a trip to
the student union in the evening.
